When zooming in on the maps so that the scale is 1000 feet (or 200 meters), the colored lightning strike dots will be surrounded by circles. The circles are different sizes. What does this mean? Is the position of the strike calculated more accurately, the smaller the circle?

This is my first post, and I didn't see this addressed elsewhere.

I know I can't apply to get the kit yet, until Blue is available, but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask.

I've just moved house, and might be able to host a detector. The problem is, within about 15m of my house on the other side of my garden fence, is an electric railway (which operates at 1500v DC, if that makes a difference).

I'm near a station, so the trains are often pulling quite a large amount of current as the accelerate away from it, and they can usually be seen to make quite large sparks on the overhead line as they do so. Would this sort of thing, in close proximity to a detector, cause a problem?

I'm hoping someone can help me.
I'm researching an event from last night where a series of lightning strikes occurred within a small window of time. I've been able to pinpoint and capture the strikes using lightningmaps.org but need help interpreting the data!  Could one of you experts help out a newbie with an easy bunch of questions?

Seems that radar really slows down my lightningmaps display.
I recall in earlier months being able to toggle radar on and off, and kept it off.
Now I seem to be unable to find where to turn radar display off.
Any help?

Today i recognized wrong "percent values" for "Effectivity L".

Higher stroke value is not a higher percent value.
Yesterday ist was all OK!

Test 60min
Test 1  only the shield ferrite 18:45 – 19:45   =    signals = 3052   M=48.2%  L=20.9%
 
Test 2  ferrite shield  + 90cm loop =  signals = 5670   M=20.7%  L=33.5%
 
Test 3 E-field ( 20cm ) signals = 32854   M=11.1%  L=9.1%   very high !!!!!!

You see the green line  this is ok   but the rest is to noisy
So is it possible to shield the E-field  ??

Just a quick question that might require a longer answer, but what is the "sweet spot" for Blitzortung?
Guess the stats are helping to tune for "ego" , but does the stats serve Blitzortung also?
@ what range from antenna do you get the best accurancy?
thinking more about what serves  the Blitzortung better, than my ego for getting most hits, or stats? -or are these "following the same path"?
Guess the answer will be different if a antenna is in a area with low coverage, and if there is high density of participants around, so i understand that the answer will be "depending on"
For a triangulation perspective would not longer range give higher % accurancy than close range?
I know my signals are rubbish atm, but im working on that issue.. still what should i aim for to get my system RED to be best for BO?

The Blitzortung development team has had an extremely chaotic first half of the year, with vocational related (job) demands, etc,... therefore, the release of system BLUE is a bit behind projections,  Please bear with us,  Egon has begun construction and evaluation of prototype 'amplifier" boards, with prototype preamps for H and E channels..... to be joined later with the controller, firmware, etc.  Again, 'life' interferes at times with 'hobby'..... and we have an excellent network, and committed operators.

For those who wish to join the BT network. and those who wish to add BLUE to an existing location, please remain patient... BLUE will fascinate and intrigue us....and the experience and data gathered from existing Green and Red stations should impress all, when BLUE is ready for release, in a few months.
