I think I might have broken one of my ferrite rod antennas when the H-field amp and antennas fell off the shelf.

I need a replacement but I cannot read German on the supplier's web site: http://www.friese-electronic.de/

Anyone know how I can get just one 200mm ferrite rod antenna as a replacement?

I have been comparing my signals from the lightningmaps.org site with other stations near by, however today I noticed that all the recording of the signals I did have are gone? Has anyone else experienced this issue and know if it can be rectified or whether my signals are now gone for good?

Hello

I have red contoler and it is working in automatic mode and I have this error.
In order to delete error I did change mode form auto to manual, and then back to auto, and all is ok for moreless 12 hours. Then is back.


wright now I did switched into manual mode.

Do anybody know where can be the root of this?

Problem is that I have only one station in my region now. The nearest stations from me is a thousands km.
So, now I can't get a good accuracy for my region. I plan to setup several stations with distance 100-200 km between them.
So, the question is how much stations will be enough? What is the optimal distance between them will be good?
Any other recomendations?

nach vielen Jahren habe ich meine Blitzortung Green (Baujahr 2009) im Keller gefunden und wollte diese wiederbeleben.
Es ist ein PCB6, Version2 mit 12cm Ferrit-Antennen und einem EM406 GPS-Modul.
Ausgelesen wird das ganze über ein RaspberryPi mit dem Linux-Tracker (der bis vor ein paar Tagen auch noch bei blitzortung.org verfügbar war).
Das Leben in der Ruraue hat allerdings seine deutlichen Spuren bei der Hardware hinterlassen, einige Lötpunkte sahen nicht mehr so ganz dolle aus.

Nachdem ich Kontakte nachgelötet habe und die Bauteile von Mitbewohnern befreit habe, wollte der Neustart auch fast gut angehen.
Problematisch waren erst eine sehr schlechte GPS-Verbindung, gefolgt von vielen Störungen.
Selbst bei "runtergedrehten Potis" reichte ein dummer Blick für einen Dauerträger, der auch auf dem Kopfhörer richtig was konnte.

Was ich bisher geschah:

• GPS auf den Balkon gelegt, Signal kommt zwar, allerdings verliert er ständig das Signal (Board-Output in Linux mit allen Verbose-Schaltern sprach von Switchen vom "A" zu "V", und wieder zurück, und so weiter). Manchmal lief es aber auch länger Zeit (<1h) stabil.
  
• Einstellen der Spannung +0.5 und -0.5 Volt auf dem Evaluation Board (sicherlich der lagerung geschuldet): GPS- und Signalverhalten unverändert
  
• Nachdem es für den Anfang gut aussah, mit dem Raspi verbunden, Software gestartet und gewartet.
  
• Augenscheinlich sah alles gut aus, es wurden auch Daten geschickt, die jedoch scheinbar nie an einer Messung teilgenommen haben.
  
• Nach einigen Tagen wurde vom Linux-Tracker nur noch zeichensalat aufgezeichnet (so wie bei einer falschen Baud-Rate).
  
• Messen der Anschlüsse am "GPS-Stecker"

5. ground
   
6. v+ before voltage regulator
   

Not to suggest that you can't handle the interference issue, but I have several EE friends in Cedar Rapids asking to help if you need some test gear, etc.

I still have some work to do with noise so I can match that guy in Alberta!!!!! He hears everything. I realize that close in stations are the key to location accuracy, but hey, I'm a Ham and DX is a big deal!

kit so I can participate as a Monitoring Station. If someone could direct me to ordering a kit would be appreciated.

I have written my own software for my weather station and watch, track, and keep historical data for the area
I live in. It is a hobby of many I have being retired from engineering and just have fun with all my hobbies.

some days ago i was able to select the clouds as overlay in the "live overview".
this possibility is gone.
i don't have this button anymore.
it was a nice feature to see where are the strokes and where are the clouds.
