  Time lightning alert
Posted by: Phoenix-Blue - 2015-08-23, 15:39 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - No Replies

Hi,

At this moment i have the experience that the created alerts not come consistently.
I have made in the config.php the next settings:

Code:
/*******************************************************************/
/*** Strike alerts                                               ***/

//completely enable/disable
define('BO_ALERTS', true);

//maximum search period for strikes
define('BO_ALERT_MAX_SEARCH_PERIOD', 60);

//check every given minutes
define('BO_ALERT_CHECK_INTERVAL', 10);

//after sending an alert, miniumum time to wait for next alert (minutes)
define('BO_ALERT_SEND_INTERVAL', 10);

And in the alert itself i use an search time of 10min. but with this settings i receive sometime 1x an 1 1/2 hour an message.
But i have set the location to an active cell so i think with this settings i must receive it must more often then now.

Do I something wrong?

  Registering new system question..
Posted by: Aythya - 2015-08-18, 15:09 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

Good afternoon fellow "Blitzortunger's"!

I am in the process of commissioning a newly built system "Red" lightning detector, and have a question in regards to that.

I already have a user ID number and account.  I have tried repeatedly to enter my 24 digit system ID hex number (without dashes) into the appropriate field.  However, when I click "OK", the field simply clears, and the system remains unregistered.

Is there something I am missing here?  I would think that is all that is involved.  Perhaps new system registration has been temporarily suspended?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to participating,

Cheers from Canada

  Here one lightning checked for accuracy

Sometimes it is possible to check the accuracy og the system.
A lightning in a church steeple - the time is known, and the strongest in nearby
The roof is copper and acts as a lightning rod, so nothing happened

  Historical strike data
Posted by: scjsjo - 2015-08-14, 14:45 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - Replies (9)

Hi

Just new to the forum. First, just to say thanks for a great site, been looking at strikes in real-time for years before going to the mountains.

My question : does anyone store historical lightening strike data? I'm interested in data for Switzerland for Saturday 8th August. A list of strikes, long-lat coordinates and timestamp would be awesome.

Thanks for your help ! Smile

  Insert extra type alert
Posted by: Phoenix-Blue - 2015-08-11, 13:04 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - No Replies

Hi,

Question, I’m no prof programmer so I hope somebody can help me with the next question.
I need an extra type of alert basically an kind of second SMS type in place of the current URL so you can choose
email/SMS1/SMS2

I use the URL string not any more so I hope it’s possible to insert on some way an extra SMS-Gateway like this.

define('BO_SMS_GATEWAY_URL1', 'http://URL1');
define('BO_SMS_GATEWAY_URL2', 'http://URL2');
