  Order Question
Posted by: chevyman142000 - 2016-05-31, 17:49 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

Hello All -

I was not sure where to post this, so I decided to put it here. I am very interested in this project. From what I can tell, it looks like there are only maybe 6 stations in my State (Wisconsin). My question is about the station setup. My plan is to order a system blue once they are in stock. My question is, what are the instructions like as far as putting the thing together? I am comfortable soldering, but I do not know if things need to be put in certain direction or not. Also, I don't fully understand what stuff comes with the kit and what stuff I need to order outside of the kit? I have read through the paperwork, but it is still not clear to me. I appreciate any help and completely understand that I am a noob to this.

Thanks in advance!
Jeff

Hä? It sounds what? If you prefer to use slang, I'll prefer to use Bavarian.

Bye,

When do the new blue owners gain access to the rest of the forums?  I am reading the manuals and have some questions that maybe answered there about some general things such as antennas, etc.

Best,

Jeff

Blitzortung.org mobile map - time zones
Posted by: Andrew.Instone-Cowie - 2016-05-30, 13:03 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - Replies (1)

The time zone/DST is incorrectly displayed on the Blitzortung mobile map, but the numeric time is correct.

The real clock time is currently 14:00 BST (British Summer Time), but the time display at the top of the map says 14:00 GMT. (Now would be 13:00 GMT.)

One Antena in Azores is enough ?
Posted by: psper - 2016-05-28, 00:45 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Hi Everyone,

I live is Lisbon where there are 3 active antennas, but I saw that there are no antennas in Azores... in middle of Atlantic ocean!!!

I have a friend that live in Azores(Flores Island) My question :

Just one antenna in Azores is enough to localize lightnings or the minimum is 2 or more antennas ?

Thanks in advance,
Paulo

Getting day by day lighning count data for last few years
Posted by: lordjaba - 2016-05-26, 12:18 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

I was looking all over the internet and could not find any graph or dataset containing for number of lightning per year for last few years/ decade.
I'm trying to figure out is there a correlation between changes of average world temperature and number of lightning.  Is it possible to get such data from you?
I assumed such data is readily available somewhere on the net but only thing I found is number of fatalities.
