Hi it appears that the format of https://data.blitzortung.org/Data/Protec...s1.json.gz changed recently.

Previously it contained in addition to other fields:
  - all
  - member
  - valid
  - used

Now it contains:
  - total
  - valid
  - involved
  - used

Is there documentation of this change somewhere?

I've seen several H-field orthagonal loop antennas using copper tubing on the forum.

How is the loop wire put inside the copper tubing?  What gauge wire?  How many turns?

Details would be appreciated!

I’ve been experimenting with a more compact H-field loop antenna setup for my station — mainly because I’m in a pretty noisy urban area with limited space on the roof. Switching to a twisted pair loop with a ferrite-loaded core has actually cut down some of the EMI for me, maybe by around 30% compared to my old open loop.

I also tried putting the preamp in a grounded metal box, and that definitely helped a bit more.

Curious if anyone else here is dealing with tight spaces or lots of RFI?

I ran into an unexpected problem today.  While trying to fine tune gain and threshold settings I lost the ability to log into the user interface of my System Blue controller using edge.
Station ID: 2110
Controller:  19.3
I have FW version 11.0b3

I lost the ability to log into the controller after a system blue reboot.
Anyone seen this behavior before?

The address I was using stored in my favorites was "http://192.168.1.110/index.cgi?action=status    

Trying to log in I get this message on my Edge Brouser and Firefox Brouser:
192.168.1.111 


After trying several times and getting confused... I rebooted manual system blue with the on off switch.  No Luck.
Then rebooted the router.  No luck.

Checked the IP address of System Blue on my LINKSYS router.  I could not find Blitzortung, so I performed a clear network map and another reboot of the router.

This time the router saw Blitzortung (new address  192.168.1.111).  Tried that.  No Luck.

Pinged address from a command window and got the following response:

Does anyone have an idea of what my next step might be to resolve this problem?

I read on chat GPT an option to do the following (Steps 4 and 5 below) , but I do not trust it unless there is documentation from Blitzortung with specific instructions and it is the recommended next step.
I hope an expert on the forum can recommend the correct next steps, and if they are complex references to needed documentation, or another thread that explains the next steps in detail.

Way back, when System Red was all the rage I expressed my interested in becoming a node operator but could never seem to find out how to get a detector system. Green came and went as did Blue and now I see that we have Blue Basic. 

I've never found a way to order before and I cannot find a way now. I have, once again, registered my interest in giving one of these detectors a home in the far north west of England, where detectors are few and far between. I have all the technical competence and more to build and run a system. I even have an SMD workstation and flow soldering oven, so I could work with a bare board if necessary. I live in an electrically quiet rural location with low latency, fast broadband. 

It must, surely, be possible to get one of these systems but the question is... HOW?

As in the topic what's next for www.lightningmaps.org? Is it possible to restore this service to full functionality and update the data, and if that's impossible then it should be disabled because I don't think it provides real station locations. By the way, I've always really liked this map and the way the data is presented on this service. Maybe I could rebuild this database after contacting the developer.

My user is 671 and my station is 1723 in Rochester, Minnesota, USA

In the "station list" option my station is listed in multiple REGIONS other than North America

Is it possible to limit the REGION to North America?

After several years of working in the previous location, I finally moved the 2527 station to a new place, which was also an opportunity to update the firmware to the latest stable version. I hope that the new location will be much more beneficial due to less industrial external interference. At the same time, I would like to ask for an update of the display of my 2527 station's position on the www.lightningmaps.org map. It seems to me that many people still use this map and the fact that this small circle is not in the right place causes me discomfort

I’m new to Blitzortung and just started diving into the lightning maps—super fascinating stuff! I'm located in central Italy and noticed that sometimes the strikes shown on the map are very close to where I am, almost too precise. I’m wondering, how accurate is the positioning of individual lightning strikes, especially in regions with fewer stations?
Also, does the number of active detectors in an area significantly affect the data I see? For example, if only a few stations are reporting, should I take the locations with a grain of salt?
