lightning data in a .txt or .csv (or similar)
Posted by: henry - 2024-06-11, 16:33 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Hey everyone,

I have one more question, this time about lightning data. Is it possible to get access to the data in a .txt or a .csv (or a similar extension)?

Thank you!

  Lightning location?
Posted by: henry - 2024-06-11, 11:12 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Hi everyone,

I am doing an analysis of lightning and was wondering whether there is some "relatively" exact location of the lightning available (such as the latitude and longitude) or if I need to estimate this from the map. (I know the location is not exact but does Blitzortung provide at least an estimate?)

Thank you very much!

Is it possible to buy System Blue or can I make System RED myself?
Posted by: gadis - 2024-06-10, 05:12 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I would like to buy a Blue system, but is it even possible to buy it? Or is it possible to do System Red at home?

Hi,
I updated my password for the forum ok.
However, I am unable to log in to the user area, my forum username and password does not work.
I tried sending an email to info@blitzortung.org but my email bounced back.
I have my System Blue up and running and would like to put it on the network.

Thank you,
Warren

Information Please center the user's location on startup if a location is in the URL
Posted by: ae55 - 2024-06-06, 17:51 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - No Replies

Hello,
Could you please either have the website center on the user's location on startup (if a location is in the URL) or provide a one-click button to detect and center the user's position?
This would make the site much more useful
Best regards
Aaron Eisele

Bug Lightning rarely shows in Sydney, Australia
Posted by: prune - 2024-06-06, 10:43 - Forum: Website, Maps and Applications - Replies (4)

Hi all. I've loved using lightningmaps over the last five years or so, mainly in the UK. I'm now based in Sydney, Australia, and have noticed that lightning that I can see and hear myself just does not show on lightningmaps or blitzortung. There looks to be adequate receiver coverage.

[attachment=4783]

There is plenty of lightning popping up on the map about 400km north (Port Macquarie). I don't know what the weather is actually like there right now though.

Anyone know what is going on?

Was ist mit den Datenservern los?
Posted by: robo - 2024-05-30, 16:22 - Forum: Non-English - Replies (1)

Hallo zusammen,

Weiß jemand, was da los ist?

Gruß robo

  Looking to buy.....
Posted by: Johan1701 - 2024-05-30, 08:01 - Forum: Hardware, Software, Lightning Physics - No Replies

a System Blue, or Red.

Hi all!
Joined the forum back in 2016, but life got in the way, and also the last couple of years has been,... intresting.
Anyhow, looking for a system to put at my countryplace in the Swedish woods, far from interference and static pollution.

Are there any new ones to buy or is someone selling their readybuilt system? Doesnt look like many stations in sweden if i read the map correctly.

Maybe any Swedish operators wanna chat at some point?

Let me know what you have Smile

(Hopefully a new/seminew operator soon) Lightning

A delay when lightning shows up on 80 Mhz
Posted by: andrewalvarez - 2024-05-24, 05:02 - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Why is their a delay when lightning shows up on 80 Mhz when detected by lightning detectors used at lower frequencies hosted online?

Stupid question because I think I know the answer but have forgotten it

I see lightning at Blitzortung.org but on RSP1a it shows up on 80 MHz 5 second later slope
