Station Moved Country and Showing Wrong on LightningMaps
#1
Hello,

My station 1365 used to be located in Doha, Qatar, but I moved country a few years ago to Cyprus, and have resurrected the system and after giving the amp board a bit of TLC it appears to be working again on the test bench.

However, I have noticed that LightningMaps is continuing to show the station located in Qatar and not in its new location of Cyprus, Paphos, depending on which part of the site you are on.

I can't see any options to resync or force any update, so I assume that this will need to be done by admins.

Can someone help?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave... yes, the LMO database can be sluggish.... I updated the link in your signature... Is this what you were referring to?

Oh... if you still control 1147, you desperately need to update the firmware... looks like it's way back 7.4 ... still running, but that's ancient....

Cheers!

Hi Mike, I was referring to the actual LigtningMaps website. as you can see in the attachment, it still shows the station in Doha.

Also, it shows the station twice on the MyStations List. (attachment 2)

And if I click on the station, it takes me to the station details where it still says Doha. (attachment 3)

(as for my Aberdeen station, yes, well out of date and also think one of the channel on the amp is stopped working, need to look at it next time I'm back. I was back at Christmas for the first time in 3 years, and didn't have time to get round to it before heading back to Cyprus.)

Cheers,
Dave

Ah.... gotcha.  Well, ahem... that's because LMO is not following the later main blitzortung databases well.  Tobi has to rebuild some areas of LightningMaps.org ... been an ongoing issue with data for awhile on the adjunct LightningMaps  since a server farm fire a few years ago, and extensive Blitzortung upgrades... All I can suggest is to note the disclaimer Tobi has on the site:
Please note that the data displayed here might be outdated or wrong! These pages will be replaced by new ones in the future.
