Is the Blitzortung detector the only device having the issue?

Can you ping or access web page of the Blitzortung detector without any issues?

I think malyan's controller isn't very happy. Over in the order status thread it's mentioned that the red H-field LED goes off. I think that refers to the LED on the H-field preamp board. That LED is connected across the 5 V supply of the pre-amp board. That 5 V pre-amp supply is fed directly from the regulated 5 V rail on the controller board.

The H-field pre-amp LED going off indicates a problem with the 5 V on that board. This could be a connection problem, poorly crimped plugs to screened cable, dry joint on the socket connections to either board. Or it's a problem with the 5 V rail of the controller, which I'd expect to be related to the power supply being used.

We need more information from malyan:

With everything connected up which lights are on, off, regulary flashing or randomly flashing 5 minutes after the unit has been powered up?

Can malyan get to the controllers web interface?

If so what does the Status > Controller / CPU section say?

I don't read or speak Russian so haven't any idea if this google translate is any good.

Status> Controller / CPU?

Я не читаю и не говорю по-русски, поэтому не имею ни малейшего представления, является ли этот перевод Google хорошим.
Cheers
Dave.

I took two semesters of Russian in college 17 years ago, I very rusty.

You probably are right about power issue.

I told him to make sure he had proper shielded cable for H-field.

When connection is lost to internet, can you still access the detector web and ping 8.8.8.8?

Upgrade software to 8.3b2, this version is the most stable.

https://forum.blitzortung.org/showthread.php?tid=1623

Voltage maybe too low, I think that voltage should be 4.75v - 5.25v or 5v +/- 5%.

For H-Field F/FTP, S/FTP, or SF/FTP are best as the individual pairs are foil shield.

For network connection most cat 5 or better cable is fine.

malyan has just answered that "no". That indicates to me that it is the LAN that has stopped working as the computer being used can't see the detector or the internet. As it does work sometimes I don't think that can be a routing configuration problem. Which really only leaves a problem with the LAN switch or router.

malyan says the link is not available. I'm afraid that "it works for me" both the link above which takes you to the forum topic and the link in the first post to the firmware. I've been running 8.3b2 from not long after it was released, no problems and I have turned off the deafult daily reboot. My controller uptime currently 11 days, it's been up to 40 ish days before a power cut  forced a reboot.

Looks on the low side to me as well. 4.75 to 5.25 V is the official USB specification but the cotroller isn't a true USB device. The measured voltage is not the complete story with power. Some 5 V power supplies have a lot of noise on thier output and this can cause the controller to do strange things. If malyan has access to an osciloscope that would show up the noise. Without a 'scope try several power supplies to see if there are any differences to the performance of the controller. One might be found that is nearer 5 V as well.
Cheers
Dave.

malyan you need to register the detector using the detector's web interface.

After registration you can access the webpage for the newer firmware.
