What are the straight, green dashed lines showing up on the page https://www.blitzortung.org/en/live_lightning_maps.php ?
They are often intercontinental but don't seem to show up with every strike.

You may want to use this map instead. It is much more flexible. You can pan and zoom. Also check out the icon with the three horizontal lines. It allows detailed configuration.
