Could someone give me a steer on what kind of cable to use for connecting the controller to my modem/router? Obviously ethernet, but should it be CAT5e network type?
Thanks, Jim

Just Cat5 - without shield - often Cat5e is ok, but we have also seen noise problems because ground loops

Thanks. Is there a generally recognized maximum length for this cable?

The specifications for 10/100BaseT are 100m on a cat. 5 cable.

Note that I was speaking of the distance from the controller to the computer cum modem, not the distance from the controller to the amplifier/antenna. Can the distance from the controller back to the modem really be 100 m?? if so, that would be useful to me.
Thanks, Jim

I know, and yes 100m ~ 300ft is a norm and means between two peaces of hardware
