What is the "delay" value for?

At the left side of the Blitzortung screen is a "delay" display, usually updating very quickly with values of a few seconds.  What is being displayed here and what purpose does it serve? Thanks.  Peter

That is the 'real  time' delay from the calculated stroke impulse discharge time-stamp to actual display on the map.  Fast, huh? Not quite 'instantly' but within a few seconds of when you could have seen the flash.
'reload after' is countdown to updating age (color code) of all strokes displayed.
'Lat - Lon' is the location of your cursor pointer on the map.

Many thanks for your explanation.  I had wondered if this delay time was saying something about the lightning strokes themselves, but from what you say it's saying something about the Blitzortung network and the speed of the calculations being done at the central server.  Regards. Peter
